citizenM Hotel Amsterdam City is hosting a photography contest that is open to all photographers anywhere. Images are posted to a website where citizenM employees will vote for their favorites. The top 100 nominated photos will be displayed in the hotel's lobby windows and on its social media channels and the photographers receive two invitations to the unveiling ceremony. The three winners will receive a cash prize of 500 Euro, a dedicated display in the hotel, free night at the luxurious citizenM hotel in London or New York, an artist profile published in citizenMag, and invitation to the unveiling ceremony. All the images and their artists will receive exposure on the contest website for up to two months.
The theme is "luggage" although artists are encouraged to interpret this theme in their own way (luggage does not even need to appear in the photo). Photographers can be creative with their photos by including text, poetry or even video with their submissions. The images must be high quality so that they can be blown up for large format display.
